The Georgia Department of Education’s Assessment and Accountability Division works hard to develop reliable tests for each grade level to ensure that students are making progress on the state mandated curriculum. Furthermore, federal law requires that all schools and districts report all student performance data. Reports are generated by the state each year allowing schools, parents, and community members to analyze the data so they can then work together to improve education for all students.
Georgia Milestones EOC
EOC Testing Window for 1st Semester is Dec. 10 - Dec. 17
EOC Testing Window for 2nd Semester is May 4 - May 11
Semester exam dates for 1st Semester is Dec. 19-20
Semester exam dates for 2nd Semester is May 21-22
Georgia Milestones Assessment System 
The Georgia Milestones Assessment System (Georgia Milestones) is a comprehensive summative assessment program spanning grades 3 through high school.  Georgia Milestones measures how well students have learned the knowledge and skills outlined in the state-adopted content standards in language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.  Students in grades 3 through 8 will take an end-of-grade assessment in each content area, while high school students will take an end-of-course (EOC) assessment for each of the ten courses designated by the State Board of Education.  The ten EOC courses are as follows:

         - Language Arts
                   o  Ninth Grade Literature and Composition
                   o  American Literature and Composition
         - Mathematics
                   o  Algebra 1
                   o  Geometry
         - Science
                   o  Physical Science
                   o  Biology
         - Social Studies
                   o  United States History
                   o  Economics/Business/Free Enterprise

The Georgia Department of Education has released a video to provide an introduction to the Georgia Milestones Assessment System.  The video highlights the purpose of the assessment, the types of questions that students will see, and the types of feedback that students, parents, and educators will receive.
