PRINCIPAL Dr. Dolores Mallard
Dr. Mallard has spent her educational career serving the students of our county. She is a third generation educator, with her mother spending 43 years and her grandmother spending 35 years in the Long County School System. An Undergraduate Degree in Biology from Benedict College led her to obtain a Master’s Degree and an Education Specialist Degree in Science Education as well as Administrative Certification from Georgia Southern University. Since then, she has earned her Ed.D in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. She has been an avid supporter of the athletic program and coached girls basketball for twelve years. She has represented our system as the STAR teacher twice and her strides and accomplishments in science education are countless. During her years of teaching science, Long County School was represented in the science research competition in California, Minnesota, Michigan, and Canada. She has also been LCHS Teacher of the Year, but Long County Schools is most proud of Mrs. Mallard for being a Georgia nominee for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching Science.

Mr. Hattaway is the Vice-Principal at Long County High School. He previously taught agricultural education and served as the FFA Advisor for the Pierce County School system for 15 years. He has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia, a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Valdosta State University. He is married and he has two daughters.
Some of Mr. Hattaway’s accomplishments: 100% FFA Membership 1998-2007, 7th Place Finish in the National Forestry CDE (Career Development Event) 1994, State Forestry Champions 1994, 2nd Place Team at 2006 Southern Region Welding CDE, 1st Place Team at 2007 Southern Region Welding CDE, 1st and 4th place Welders in the State Weld Off 2007, Pierce County High School Teacher of the Year 2006-2007.
